Troy Jackson
Troy was looking for a positive change in his life when he found Philly Power Yoga and began training with Steve Gold. Through his daily practice on and off the mat, Troy created the positive change he sought. Through the tutelage of Steve, attendance at Baron Baptiste Level One Teacher Training, and various other workshops, Troy has deepened his knowledge of yoga and shares this with the Philly Power Yoga community. Troy invites students to find their own inner power through a vigorous class that will make them sweat and inspire change at the same time.
“Troy brought me to the mat. He made me understand that the practice is about you and not anything or anyone else. Being in his class has changed my life. His guidance and caring is priceless.” Jeff Palmer
" A mini Yoga Boot Camp " Julia Bringhurst.
“Troy inspires his students with a challenging workout and compassionate approach. I always know I will leave Troy's class having strengthened and stretched my body and mind. “ Hally Schreiber
“I have had the good fortune of having Troy as my Yoga instructor for some time now. Troy's teaching philosophy is based on two points. First, take your practice seriously but don't take yourself seriously. Secondly, the practice of Yoga can be a unique experience for all participants. As a result, Troy reaches the perfect balance in his teaching method: Classes are physically and mentally intense and challenging but are always in context of a very relaxed, positive, and comforting atmosphere. Furthermore, while Troy gently pushes students to their physical limit, he always stresses safety and encourages students to modify their poses whenever needed. As Troy likes to say (while all of us are sweating profusely on our mats!) "Even if you just come here and quietly meditate on your mat, you are practicing Yoga." There are other qualities Troy holds that are not as quantifiable as his high degree of professionalism and his deep knowledge of his craft - He's just a cool guy to be around that makes one feel comfortable practicing Yoga.” Max Fisher

Teagan began practicing yoga in the middle of her graduate school career while pursing her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania, which she received in May 2010. Almost immediately she began to see the power of yoga in her life. Having come from a background in dance, Teagan was used to physically challenging activities. Yoga offered her new opportunities to grow and become stronger both physically and mentally.
Having always been passionate about teaching movement, Teagan wanted nothing more than to be able to share her love of yoga with others. Following a teacher training with Steve Gold, she began teaching at Philly Power Yoga in the spring of 2007. She loves the community of people who practice at the studio and is thankful everyday to be a welcomed part of this community. More recently, Teagan also completed a 200-hour RTY classical vinyasa teacher training. She continues to take workshops and trainings in an effort to expand her teaching as well as her own practice.
In her teaching, Teagan strives to challenge her students to grow continually in their practices, to help people reach their goals and exceed their expectations. She recognizes that yoga offers an opportunity for everyone to come to a better understanding of their own personal mind-body connections, to get to know themselves better, and to learn to treat themselves well so that they can open up to and help others. Teagan aims to teach classes that help students to acknowledge the technical aspects of the yoga poses themselves, but also to cultivate internal focus and awareness. Teagan tries to provide a classroom environment that is both nurturing and accepting, but also challenging and difficult. She takes great pleasure in the opportunities presented to her to give back to the yoga community at large.

Jenifer Anzalone
Yoga is an evolutionary philosophy. I remember my first yoga class, about 13 years ago; my legs were up the wall in Savasana and I passed out, which was astounding for someone like myself who typically struggled just to be still. It was that blissed out feeling that kept me coming back for more and I have been hooked ever since. Through the roller coaster that was my life, yoga remained the only constant. When I was on my mat, I was able to connect to a place of inner peace and I always left feeling right in my mind. Soon thereafter, that inner peace became part of my existence, beyond the edges of my mat. I slowly became capable of locating the stillness in my mind regardless of the amount of chaos around me. I deepened my practice and received my teaching certification through The Conquering Lion Yoga Program, studying under the incredible Lama Kelly Morris in NYC. Since then, I have gained an even greater understanding of how yoga really works. I believe that it is the path to end all suffering and I have witnessed it’s potential to transform worlds. When I moved to Philly in 2010, I was blessed to find Philly Power Yoga and am eternally grateful to have such a loving yoga community. It is my intention to give back by teaching others this incredible practice, in hopes that it will change their worlds too. My classes will be a place where you can zone out to the sweet rhythm of your breath and sweat in the name of love! With wisdom in your mind and compassion at your heart, may we all work towards stopping the mind from turning, wrongly, and ultimately achieve true happiness. I have endless gratitude to all of my teachers, especially Steve Gold, who has taken me to this next level.
