For Everyone
Philly Power Yoga Procedures
- Arrive for class at least ten minutes early. This allows a proper orientation before class begins
- Upon entering our centers, remove shoes, throw out gum, sign in legibly and handle any payments.
Don't forget that we now offer online sign-up for classes, so please, visit the schedule page in order to sign-up ahead of time and skip the line!
Soon we will also be offering online purchase of packages so it is ready for you when you arrive!
- Practice on an empty stomach. We recommend that you wait at least 2-3 hours after eating to
practice yoga. If absolutely necessary drink some juice or eat lightly
- Only yoga mats, towels, water and bodies allowed in the studio. Absolutely no phones, purses etc. We lock all doors behind us so the storage area is secure during class
- Drink lots of water in the 24 hour prior period to class. Dehydration will greatly affect your experience. The room is heated to 86 degrees
- If you need to change before class, please do so in the designated changing areas in the front room or in either of the 2 bathrooms in the back. The back hallway is occupied by several other partners and needs to be clear for use.
- Please stack your belongings neatly in a cubby or on a shelf. Classes can get busy and we do not want clients to scramble looking for clothes all over the studio after class!
- Dress is non restrictive clothing that allows you to move freely and sweat. It greatly helps you and the teacher if
you don’t cover your ankles, knees, elbows and shoulders with clothing. The visibility of these joints will deepen your experience
- Purchase a yoga mat. This will serve you energetically & hygienically. Not all yoga mats are created equal so we recommend
that you purchase your yoga mat at our yoga centers.
- Please be aware of personal hygiene. Be mindful of air quality (deodorant is great, strong perfumes and colognes are not and please remember to wash your yoga mat)
- Bring a towel. We do rent them at the front desk
- Alert the teacher to any injuries prior to class starting. This will help the teacher adjust you or
give you a modification to the posture. This is for your safety and the longevity of your practice.
- Enter the yoga room in silence and use the time before class for meditation or gentle stretching.
- If you arrive late please enter the room quietly. Never enter or leave the room during the meditation or the final reclining posture
- Set your mat up on the floor. Be courteous and sure to provide maximum mirror space for all students
- Acknowledge your limitations and realize with regular practice, good alignment and proper breathing you are on your way to healing
- If you are not feeling well during class recline onto your back. Please stay in the room for the entirety of the class
Attention to detail is often the gateway into depths & richness of our experience.
Yoga, being more than a series of physical poses, is a state of mind and a lifestyle.
- It is a respect for the space and people around you
- It is an attitude of humility and service
- It is a graceful presence and generous spirit It is a graceful presence and generous spirit
