Thrive Pilates is a product of a lifetime of experience and education in health, fitness and counseling. Hally's passion for health and wellness began early in her life. As a dancer, she was always interested in physical fitness. Her early experiences had a profound impact on Hally's life. After a recovery from illness, she volunteered visiting children in hospitals and giving them hope and inspiration. She discovered her ability to impact others' lives and chose to make helping others her life-long goal. She went on to study Human Development at Cornell University, where she graduated with distinction. Months after completing her graduate studies, Hally's passion for overall health and wellness inspired her to compliment her career in counseling to become a Certified Pilates Instructor. She trained for over 700 hours with Power Pilates. She and her instructors integrate technical expertise with her clients' current needs and personal goals.

Steve Gold

Years ago in what now seems to be in another life, Steve Gold, Yoga Master and owner of Philly Power Yoga, worked behind a desk as a successful sales and marketing executive. Although success and wealth came quickly for Gold, the career path proved to be unfulfilling. Gold quickly changed paths after his realization that the most important wealth is health and spent the next 17 years studying and practicing spiritual principles and lifestyle, including eight years with yoga guru Baron Baptiste.

Gold is certified to teach “Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga” and continuously studies his craft for advances techniques to share with his students and instructors. Philly Power Yoga has been teaching Gold’s signature yoga for 10 years, and has recently opened the doors to a new expanded full-service facility with a variety of yoga and Pilates classes, as well as massage and acupuncture services.

Philly Power Yoga is not leisure yoga. It is tough, you will sweat. It was developed to identify and correct the pressures the Western world puts on the body. The practice isn’t a fad, it’s a proven lifestyle with the goal of making spiritual fitness an individual’s primary goal.

Gold takes pride in his instructor’s primary goal of connecting to students by sharing personal experiences in addition to poses, which allow students to reach spiritual fitness by reconnecting with their authentic self. He trains instructors who are honest, real, and accessible. He teaches that beginning with unhealthy baggage and habits are ok, simply be still in the moment no matter how painful and begin to reconnect with the real you.

Gold doesn’t limit his yoga teachings to his studio. His new non-profit, Project 4 Peace, takes his Power Yoga back to his roots in the inner city to teach youth yoga principles that strengthen confidence and self-worth. Gold acknowledges that his own self-value only comes from being in service for others.

Hally Bayer

Thrive Pilates is a product of a lifetime of experience and education in health, fitness and counseling. Hally’s passion for health and wellness began early in her life. As a dancer, she was always interested in physical fitness. When she was just fifteen years old, she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Over the next two years, she was hospitalized, heavily medicated and operated on three times to save her life. These experiences had a profound impact on Hally’s life. After her recovery, she volunteered visiting children in hospitals and giving them hope and inspiration. She discovered her ability to impact others’ lives and chose to make helping others her life-long goal.

Hally’s passion for overall health and wellness inspired her to compliment her career in counseling to become a Certified Pilates Instructor. Hally and her instructors are all fully certified in all levels of Pilates as well as practice in the fields of somatics, nutrition, dance, qi gong, somatics, integrative therapy and more.  Hally’s teaching style speaks to her background in both dance and counseling—integrating her technical expertise with her clients’ current needs and personal goals. She motivates and challenges her instructors to also pull from their personal experiences and trainings to inspire and to change the lives of every person that walks through the Thrive door.  Thrive gives clients an intense workout, while maintaining a gentle and compassionate approach to facilitating progress and understanding individual needs.
