
What is Surya Namaskar?
A series of poses linking breath and movement to warm up the body at the beginning of practice. Also known as the Sun Salutations, the series begins with tadasana / standing pose, jumping back and lowering down into chatarunga dandasana / high pushup position, blossoming forward into urdhva mukha svanasana / upward dog and releasing back into adho mukha svanasana / downward dog.
What is Ujjayi Breath?
Deep, rhythmic, audible breath that guides your moving meditation in vinyasa yoga practice. Inhale and exhale deeply and evenly, dragging the breath across the back of your throat, creating an ocean like sound. Ujjayi breath will light your inner fire and help purify your body of toxins.
What is Savasana?
The final pose in the Vinyasa yoga practice, lying on your back, arms and legs gently extended, mind free of all thoughts, breath soft. This relaxing posture rejuvenates the body, mind and spirit.
